After the long, hot and apparently quiet summer, with no new books to announce, LPP is blossoming again with three new books either published or imminent. On 29 September we published Digital Sovereignty: The Power to Decide by Mike Bracken, Andrew Greenway, Lauren Kahn, Raine Lester and James Stewart, all at Public Digital. Two of these authors are part of the team that wrote Digital Transformation at Scale in 2018, which was a bestseller for LPP and a hugely influential book. Digital Sovereignty has a stellar list of endorsers including Francis Fukuyama.
We will extend our extraordinary list of construction law books in November with Reflections on Construction Adjudication: The MCMS Blogs by Jonathan Cope and Matthew Molloy, authors of the hugely successful Adjudicating Construction and Engineering Disputes. The new book is a compilation of the best of their long-running blog postings (on the Thomson Reuters Practical Law Construction blog). Alexander Nissen KC is one of several eminent figures to have endorsed the book: “Undoubtedly acting entirely within their jurisdiction, of which they are masters, Matthew Molloy and Jonathan Cope have brilliantly curated a stimulating composition of their adjudication blogs. No case of significance is overlooked. No part of the Act is unexplored. Generous helpings of legal analysis and industry insight make for interesting reading throughout. Natural justice dictates that you should have a copy to hand.”
We are very proud of these two fine books, and especially proud that both are from returning authors. We must be doing something right!
We are withholding some evidence about the third new book for a little while longer, but it will also be out in November. The book is part memoir, part handbook for aspiring judges and all those who are simply curious about what it takes to be a judge and what it is like to actually do it. The title is The Practice of Judging. More to follow on this very soon!
